The new 3 piece box set can just add up to the collection and can be of display purposes just like the 7 piece book set in a chest of Harry Potter Books. Nevertheless the news is truly misleading and disappointing for potterheads like us who are much awaiting for the Encyclopedia to be out. As for JKR, I think she would just want to freely share other potter infos through Pottermore. First, it would help maintain the pottermore beta users to stay tuned and explore pottermore more. 2nd, she might want to have that interaction with potterheads in pottermore in sharing infos there and reading how we react to each detail she would add in Pottermore. Just my thoughts… :))

Blog of a Pottermore Beta

Yesterday, the internet was a buzz with two different Potter related news items. The first being a statement Reuters statement that read as follows:

Bloomsbury, the publisher of the “Harry Potter” series by author JK Rowling, also said it was counting on a new Rowling three-book box set tied into the Potter series, and a non-fiction account of spies in World War II to support sales in the coming year.

I didn’t report this yesterday, as my suspicion was that it would simple be a re-publishing of three already existing books made me wait for further information. As it turned out I was correct, as today Bloomsbury confirmed that the box set in question will contain hardback editions of Quidditch Through The Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

They have dubbed this the Hogwarts Library Box…

There’s more!….POTTERMORE!

I don’t have the luxury to buy the books of Harry Potter and of all the books I can borrow from my bestfriend I completely understand that Harry Potter books are the exception.  We call them untouchable books by anyone but the owner!  I am privileged enough to read the books from ebooks and pdf files plus listen to the audio files as well.  And not just once of course.  I lost count how many times I have read the ebooks in my phone. the pdf files in my comp and listen to audio files in my mp4 while doing research or other things at home. Although, I can say I have watched ALL the movies in THEATER! I have saved and made it sure Ill be able to watch the movie in the theater and every movie I watched was memorable. I’m not really a “cryer” may it be in books or movies and it would take a great bang to make me cry in real life too.  But I have shed my share of tears in some parts throughout the books and movies as well.  My bestfriend and I together with my sister and some tag-alongs watched the 2 parts of Deathly Hallows in IMAX Theater, also making sure that we sit by each other.  Those were precious moments shared we won’t ever forget.

I remembered that we’re saying “what’s next after the 8th movie?”.  And having the title “IT ALL ENDS HERE” makes it more surreal and sad.  After having all the books read and movies watch all you can do is reminisce, criticize, appreciate, point the things you love, could have done or just bout everything you can discuss about Harry Potter, Ronald Weasly, Hermoine Granger, Prof. Dumbledore, Snape, Malfoys, the, DA’s, other Proffessors, Head of Houses, Ministry of Magic, the Weaslys, Hagrid, Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, Death eaters, Dementors, Quidditch, Bulgarians. Beauxbatons, Giants, elves, peeves, goblins, centaurs, unicorns, spiders, snakes ~ nagini, horcruxes, and the list could go on but we can’t not mention of course Voldemort.

No, it didn’t end there!  There’s more in POTTERMORE!  JK Rowling realizes our craving for more of HARRY POTTER.  And to express her gratitude to us, she gave us POTTERMORE to enjoy this coming October.  Except for us, the 1 Million  early MAGICAL ONES!

POTTERMORE is an exciting new website from J.K. Rowling that can be enjoyed alongside the Harry Potter books. You can explore the stories like never before and discover exclusive new writing from the author.

As I have experienced the books and movies with my bestfriend and sister, I wish to experience POTTERMORE with them as well!  There’s nothing like sharing these experiences with people you love and close to you and who understands your love of Harry Potter!  And now that Pottermore has transformed me in a snap to be twitter-addict and blogger i wish to experience and share all these too with my #pottermorefamily!

*Passing around butterbeer and firewhiskies…. CHEERS TO POTTERMORE!

I Await a Protector ~ Holy Spirit

I was able to register to Pottermore BETA on day 2, with the help of my BFF Kit Potter aka Phoenixmoon. I got the username SilverPatronus104 which i love very much! I love patronuses!

A Patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a veryhappy memory, a very powerful memory… Allow it to fill you up… lose yourself in it… then speak the incantation “Expecto Patronum”.

—Remus Lupin teaching Harry Potter the Patronus Charm

Acording to

The Patronus Charm is a charm that evokes a partially-tangible, positive energy force known as a Patronus (pl. Patronuses, notPatroni). Patronuses are also called spirit guardians though this may only refer to corporeal Patronuses. It is primarily designed for defence against otherwise unbeatable Dark creatures like Dementors and lethifolds, though there are other uses.

It’s like repelling dark forces with those silvery animal image.  Patronus are changing depending on the caster. Prof. Minerva McGonagall casted 3 patronuses the 7th book to call for help to other Head of Houses when Harry returns to Hogwats. Also as Nymphadora Tonks Patronus changed from its previous form to that of a four-legged creature which others guessed was a werewolf as a reflection of her love to Lupin.  And as Harry looks up to his father, his Patronus takes form of a Stag same as James’. Likewise, Snape’s Patronus is a Doe because he has devoted his life in loving Lily.

Patronus means “protector”, “guardian”, or simply “patron” in Latin, specifically reflecting the entire role that the Patronus Charm plays. In archaic Latin, it meant “father”, which is very interesting, considering that Harry’s Patronus is the same as his father’s Patronus and Animagus form, a stag. The Latin word exspecto or expectomeans “I look out for” or “I wait for”, thus the charm’s incantation roughly translates into “I await a protector.”

The Patronus Charm in our lives is like the Holy Spirit protecting us from all Dark Forces.  I envision the Holy Spirit to be Bluish-Silvery flame or mists that envelopes one’s soul and gives peace and happiness that would repel the darkness that surrounds us.  And our Protector is the Holy Spirit, our Guardian. Let us cast our Patronuses and believe that the Holy Spirit would protect us from all evil.

Make it a powerful memory, the happiest you can remember. Allow it to fill you up… Just remember, your Patronus can only protect you as long as you stay focused… Think of the happiest thing you can.
